Nicky Catsburg looks forward to BMW M8 debut at Rolex 24 at Daytona

Nicky Catsburg is all set to embark on an exciting new programme and is looking forward to getting back behind the wheel later this week in what is one of the biggest races of the year, the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Catsburg, along with BMW Team RLL teammates Augusto Farfus, John Edwards and Jesse Krohn tested at Daytona earlier this month in the pre-event Roar Before the Rolex 24 and this Thursday, Catsburg will make his competition debut at the wheel of the all-new #24 BMW M8 GTLM.

“It’s a busy time of the year for me,” Nicky began. “January is Daytona!  I’m very happy to be back driving again and it’s the first race for the new M8 - which I’ve helped to develop - so it’s a very exciting time for us all.

“Whatever the results, it’s cool to be a part of the programme with BMW Motorsport,” Nicky continued. “For Daytona, we want to see how the M8 performs in its first major event. Testing in general has gone very well, even if we had a few minor issues in the Roar test earlier this month. That’s all part of bringing a new car to this very high-level championship.

“As far as my teammates go, it’s great to be back with John Edwards again,” he said, “He’ll be doing the US races and I know Augusto Farfus well as we did the Nurburgring 24 together and that was great for us. Jesse Krohn has moved from a BMW junior to a works BMW driver so it’ll be good to be working with him and he fully deserves the role. I obviously know BMW Team RLL well too. Last year they had some great results – four wins – and I’m sure there will be plenty of success in 2018 too.

“It’s also a great pleasure to have Prosperity Investment Management on board as we start this partnership together.”
