Jens Reno Møller, Maxime Potty Dániel Nagy confirm participation
Jens Reno Møller, Maxime Potty and Dániel Nagy were the latest drivers to confirm their participation in the new TCR Europe Series.
Møller will drive a new Honda Civic Type R TCR run by Reno Racing and with the support of Honda and JAS Motorsport.
“I hope to step up this year; 2017 was my learning season in TCR and after having been able to claim my first podium in the International Series, I expect to be in the first part of the field this year. I will be aiming for a top-five result in the championship. But it looks like that it is going to be tough, as the level will be pretty much the same as last year in TCR International,” said the Dane.
A front-runner in TCR Benelux for the last two seasons, the 18-year old Belgian Potty will race a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR entered by Comtoyou Racing and supported by the Belgian VW Club.
“With the entire Comtoyou Racing team, led by Jean-Michel Baert and François Verbist, the support of the Belgian VW Club and Jean-François Hemroulle as my coach, I will be well looked after,” Potty said. “As I will have the opportunity to practice beforehand and everything will be done for me to fight for the title, that will be the aim. The challenge is tough, but I don’t want to play a supporting role. It is a major step in my career and I am ready and more motivated than ever.”
As for Dániel Nagy, who has already driven TCR cars a few times in the International Series, has been signed by Hungary-based M1RA to drive one of the team's Hyundai i30 N TCR cars.
Nagy said: “I’m willing to experience the taste of victories again! TCR Europe is the perfect series and M1RA is the perfect team to do so. I am very positive ahead of the forthcoming season.”
M1RA team principal Dávid Bári, stated: “After becoming the Teams’ Champions in the TCR International Series in 2017, we would like to reach a similar success in TCR Europe. I am so happy to welcome Dániel in our team, because we know he is a very talented and young driver. I believe we have the experience to help him with improving as a driver.”
