Here’s a recap of some of the latest developments in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.

SYAHRIN MAKES CAR-RACING DEBUT WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM FELLOW WTCR MALAYSIA WILDCARD CHEAH
Hafizh Syahrin called on fellow wildcard Mitchell Cheah to help him prepare for his car-racing debut last weekend. The Malaysian duo will join compatriot Douglas Khoo on the #WTCR2019SUPERGRID at the Sepang International Circuit from 12-15 December. But while Cheah has ample experience racing cars, MotoGP rider Syahrin is stepping into the unknown. So, as part of his mission to adapt from two to four wheels, Syahrin took part in the Sepang 1000km Endurance Race (S1K) armed with driving tips from Cheah, a SIC Talent Development Programme driver. MA WOULD LOVE WTCR STAY DESPITE FORMULA E MOVE
Ma Qinghua wants to split his time between his newly-launched Formula E bid and his WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO campaign. The Chinese driver placed P20 and P19 in the two races that made up the Formula E Ad Diriyah EPrix in Saudi Arabia last weekend. Although the WTCR / OSCARO schedule for 2020 is still under wraps, Ma hopes he can race in both series. Click for full story.

KRISTOFFERSSON TOP WTCR MACAU ROOKIE BUT WANTED MORE
Johan Kristoffersson was the top rookie at WTCR Race of Macau – but headed home to his native Sweden wanting more. The SLR Volkswagen driver followed up his P11 in Race 1 with fifth in Race 2 and fourth in Race 3 on his first try-out of the legendary Circuito da Guia. “I have to be satisfied with that result,” the double FIA World Rallycross champion said. “My first try in Macau, scoring 40 points, that’s incredible. But there was more to give, especially in the last two races and certainly in the narrow and tricky part of the track.” Click for full story.

CATSBURG CONGRATULATES RIVAL PRIAULX FOR WTCR MACAU WIN
Nicky Catsburg said he was “happy to see” Andy Priaulx claim his maiden victory in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO in Macau recently. Catsburg and Priaulx clashed on track at WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan last month with Priaulx’s Cyan Performance Lynk & Co team critical of the Dutchman, who received a driving penalty for his role in the incident. WTCR PODIUM RETURN MAKES FOR A “VERY HAPPY” VERNAY
