FIA WTCR Race of Portugal WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO 2019 Rounds 16-18 of 30, Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, 5-7 July
Norbert Michelisz (BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse), Hyundai i30 N TCR: DHL Pole Position (1m59.498s)
“That was probably the lap of my life, honestly. There was no margin at least for me to go any faster. I’m really happy about the progress we did since yesterday’s practice and this one goes to the team.”
Augusto Farfus (BRC Hyundai N LUKOIL Racing Team), Hyundai i30 N TCR: Second position (1m59.797s)
“It’s all about commitment this track, the mistakes are around the corner. I tried to build up all through the qualifying lap by lap, trying to get the distance to the wall better. I did the lap at the end, I really committed at the last sector and it worked. I am very happy, P2 I think I could not ask for more. Now I just try to have a clean start and bring it home.”
Yann Ehrlacher (Cyan Performance Lynk & Co), Lynk & Co 03 TCR: Third position (1m59.905s)
“It was a really difficult one, it was really hot in the car. When you are pushing like hell and they tell you on the radio you are still missing three tenths, four tenths, you think you have to almost kill yourself at every corner. It’s not easy but the team gave me a really good car that I was confident in and I was able to push like hell. I scratched sometimes the walls without having a too big impact to use every inch of the track. I am really pleased about the work we have done since the beginning of the weekend. I happy everything is going really well so far and the luck is a bit on our side. The top two are putting in some really good times so it will be a tough race but I hope we can make something out of it.”
