Salih Yoluç to return to the World Endurance Championship

Salih Yoluç is pleased to be returning to the FIA World Endurance Championship after his impressive campaign in 2018-19, ending the LMGTE AM Super Season in the top three.

He became the most successful Turkish driver to have raced in the championship with four podiums and a pole position during his series debut that concluded at Le Mans in June.

Salih has an excellent racing resume and has respectively stood on the podium in over a third of the races he has entered in his career.

In 2015 he won the 24 Hours of Dubai and finished in second place in the 2016 running of the Le Mans Cup. He ended the 2017 Gulf 12 Hours and Blancpain GT Endurance Series in third place while concluding the same years’ ELMS in second. Last year he won the GT Nations Cup for Turkey and wrapped up the FIA Endurance Trophy and debut World Endurance Championship season in third.

A mixture of four and eight hour races - including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans - spanning across eight countries in four continents grace the Season Eight calendar.

The 2019-20 season will start with the official pre-season test, the Prologue, at Circuit de Catalunya in Spain in two weeks' time. The championship is televised in 196 countries around the world as leading car manufacturers from around the globe seek international racing success.

Added to the calendar this season are the 8 Hours of Bahrain and the 6 Hours of São Paulo. The former venue hosted the GT Nations Cup in 2018 where Salih secured three out of three podiums with two race wins, to be crowned champion for Turkey alongside Ayhancan Güven. The Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo (Brazil) however, is a brand-new circuit for Salih.

After securing third place in class in his debut, Salih and team are searching for more honours with the Aston Martin Vantage. Salih returns to TF Sport alongside AMR junior driver, Charlie Eastwood, for their second World Endurance Championship campaign. They are joined for the year by Aston Martin factory driver, Jonny Adam, who raced alongside the duo last season in select events of the WEC Super Season. Together the trio secured two strong podiums at Silverstone and Fuji.

Salih and team are chasing their first series win ahead of the first round of Season Eight at Silverstone next month.

Salih Yoluç: "I am delighted to be returning to the World Endurance Championship for Season Eight. We had an amazing debut campaign during the Super Season and we will only be getting stronger in our second season with the Vantage.

"I'm really excited to have Jonny [Adam] join Charlie [Eastwood] and I for the full season. We enjoyed some success with him last year and he is a great addition to the team who brings a lot of experience and knowledge. The Aston BoP prevented us from fighting at the top last season, so hopefully with new car we can get our first win and be challenging for the championship from the beginning. I am really looking forward to going back to Le Mans and I hope we can have a good package to win at the 24-hours, too. Brazil is a new track for me and I'm really looking forward to visiting there and racing on the famous track. Now our minds focus on the first race of the season, so bring on Silverstone!"
