TF Sport return to Spa-Francorchamps hopeful of strong WEC showing
TF Sport came so close to winning the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship Super Season at Spa-Francorchamps last year and return the Belgian venue for the seventh round of the championship this coming weekend with a clear aim of standing on the top step of the podium.
Euan Hankey returns to the #90 Aston Martin Vantage GTE driver line-up at Spa-Francorchamps in place of Jonny Adam. Euan started the Super Season with the team, competing in the first two rounds of the championship, so is well known by the team with history showing that he’ll be right on the pace from the outset.
With three runner-up positions to date and further points finishes in Shanghai and Sebring, TF Sport is currently in a strong fourth place in the Pro-Am standings with 68 points. With two rounds of the Super Season remaining, the team, Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood remain firmly in the title race with just 35 points covering the top four.
Last time out at the 1000 Miles of Sebring, TF Sport looked set for a fourth podium of the campaign until the final hour, where light contact from behind damaged the diffuser on the GTE. This required an additional stop dropping the team to sixth at the chequered flag. Returning to Spa-Francorchamps, a little good fortune could just bring the first win of the Super Season.
