Following their hard-fought podium position last time out at Brands Hatch, Mark Farmer and Nicki Thiim are third in the drivers’ standings with 121 points in the #11 Aston Martin Vantage GT3. While the drivers’ title is a big ask, the duo will be going for the victory, even if a ten second success penalty makes the challenge all the more difficult.
Derek Johnston and Marco Sørensen meanwhile will also be chasing the top step of the podium and with no penalties going into the two-hour event, are bullish on their chances.
The Aston Martin package has shown tremendous pace over the last three seasons at Donington Park, taking two wins and a second with Derek. The race is also his last before retiring from competition and takes place at the venue where he was crowned champion 24 months ago. He is determined to go out with his seventh win in the series.
TF Sport lead the teams’ championship with 224 points, 31 ahead of its nearest rival with 64.5 points available at Donington.
